How can people sign up for my Life Group?
- Life Group Launch: Sunday Signup Sheet
- Eastwood website/app
- Conversation with Life Group Leader: Life Group Leader manually adds them to Life Group
Can I only have 12 people in my Life Group?
You can have as many people in your life group as you feel comfortable with. A “healthy life group” typically holds less than 12, but don’t be discouraged with a larger number. If you have 50 people sign up on Life Group Launch Sunday, it is likely you will serve approx. half on a consistent basis. If you set a limit for the number of members joining the group, consider doing the same group the following semester to allow others interested the same opportunity to join.
How can I recruit people to come to my group?
• Start with people who are already in your sphere of influence (co-workers, friends, and neighbors).
• Find people around you who are new to the church, are new believers, or have shown interest in getting involved.
• Look for people you think you can help realize their potential.
• Ask God to send the right people to your group.

Where can I host my Life Group?
We encourage Life Groups to meet outside the church building in the places where you like to spend your time. Some of the most common meeting places are homes, restaurants, parks, coffee shops, and office buildings.
Does my group have to meet weekly?
We encourage meeting weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly each semester to help build genuine relationships.
Does Eastwood offer childcare during Life Group meetings?
No, but you are welcome to choose to offer childcare at your Life Group.
Does a person have to be a member of Eastwood to attend a Life Group?
No. Anyone is welcome to attend Life Groups. In fact, we encourage leaders to invite those who do not attend Eastwood to their Life Group events.
Do I have to take attendance at my Life Group?
No, but make sure to connect new members to the Eastwood app so they can stay in communication with your Life Group.
Do I have to list out every event in the app?
No, but it's important to communicate as much detail as possible with as much time for people to plan as possible. Meeting dates and times should be included in your group description before Life Group Launch.
Can I cancel a Life Group meeting, event, or gathering?
Yes. However, we ask this to be a rare and extreme occasion. We want you to keep your group meetings consistent throughout the semester. Communicate to both the Life Group Members and the Life Group Pastors when a meeting is canceled.
How many Life Groups should someone participate in and lead?
We suggest that you lead no more than one Life Group and that people only participate in 1-3 Life Groups in a given semester. (based on frequency)
How often should I remind people about our meetings?
At a minimum, you should send a reminder about your meeting 1 day before your meeting. It is suggested to attempt to stay in frequent contact with your Life Group members through group messenger within the app.
Does the curriculum or resource used for my Life Group have to be pre-approved by the church?
Yes. All curriculum and material used for Life Groups must be pre-approved by the Life Group Pastors before it can be used. This assures that the Life Groups remain accountable and consistent with the direction of the church.
How do I measure if group members are making steps in their walk with God?
Ask! Make it part of your discussion, whether in a group setting or individually. Here are some great questions to guide your conversation:
• How did you get connected to this Life Group?
• What are you most looking forward to in the group?
• Do you attend Eastwood?
• What brought you to Eastwood?
• Have you ever been part of a Life Group before?
• What do you feel like God has been doing in your life lately?
• What areas of your faith are you hoping to grow in the coming months?
• What are you focused on in your life right now?
• Have you been through Eastwood’s First Steps Class? Do you remember what your personality type is or what your spiritual gifts are?
• Have you ever served on Eastwood’s Serve Team?
• How can I pray for you?
